This pathfinder is primarily a guide to finding information held in the Law Library in the area of feminist legal studies. Readers should note that in some jurisdictions the subject is known as feminist jurisprudence.
Readers should note when using the Catalogue of the University of Sydney Library that if you don't know the author or title, you can try the Subject or Keyword approach. The difference is that the Subject approach will yield only items catalogued under prescribed subject headings; the Keyword approach will usually yield more hits as it searches across the author, subject headings, titles and series. Using Keywords and entering W ie Words from Author, Title, Series, Corporate Author or Contents Notes and keying in "feminism and law" yields a different result to keying in "women and law" By using Keywords and entering S ie Subject keywords and keying in "feminism and law" yields a different result again. By searching
under Subject the prescribed term appears to be Women---Legal
Status. Other relevant subject headings include: Be aware of different terms used in overseas jurisdictions eg in the US, they use Sex crimes not Sexual assault, Family violence instead of Domestic violence. As the University of Sydney Library uses Library of Congress subject headings then readers should be aware of this when searching under Subject in the Catalogue.
