Faculty of Law Alumni Cocktail Drinks Function - Wednesday 24 September, 2008

Professor Gillian Triggs, Dean of Sydney Law School, cordially invites you to join fellow alumni and friends for cocktails.

The guest speaker Mrs Kerry Chikarovski (BEc ’77, LLB ’79) solicitor and former New South Wales Opposition Leader will give a brief talk on the topic Politics:The Trials and Tribulations.

'Valley Song' - by Athol Fugard - 7 August 2008

Alumni theatre special at $32 per ticket (normally $45) - includes refreshments before and meeting the cast after the show.

Simple life in a tiny village in South Africa for 17-year-old Veronica and her aging grandfather is threatened by a newcomer. This play from South Africa's greatest playwright resonates not only as a touching personal tale but also as a metaphor for the emerging post-apartheid era in South Africa.

Pre-show drinks in the foyer hosted by the Alumni Council from 7pm. Performance starts at 8pm, and you can meet the cast after the show.

Celebrating the 2008 Olympics in China - Hong Kong Harbour Cruise - 9 August 2008

All alumni residing in Hong Kong are warmly invited to join us for a harbour cruise on 9 August.

We will be meeting at the Hang Hau MTR station, Exit B, at 10:45am. The boat will be departing at 11:00am so please do not be late.

Please RSVP as early as possible to secure your spot as the number of participants are limited to 40. Expression of interest for this event will be based on a first come first serve basis.

This year's conference will be bringing together some of Australia's leading labour law and IR researchers and practitioners to debate the key issues confronting labour law today.

Classic work from one of the most remarkable theatrical innovators of our time, One Man is a social satire consisting of two short plays.

Tell Tale Heart is a gothic tale of horror told by a man who stands alone in the spotlight, protesting sanity while he explains how he systematically went about killing and dismembering a neighbour.
Dog is a hilarious day in the life of a football hooligan and his pit bull terrier, Roy.
