Objectives
The Centre for Asian and Pacific Law in the University of Sydney is a centre of the Faculty of Law.
The objectives of the Centre are to encourage, promote and support innovative and important scholarship including teaching, research, consultancy and advocacy in Asian and Pacific Law and in other aspects of Asian and international affairs as they relate to the legal culture of the Asian region. Its activities include:
- The organisation and presentation of conferences, workshops, lectures, courses, seminars and the like;
- The arrangement of visits of scholars to and from overseas;
- The publication of papers, reports and other works;
- The pursuit and provision of grants to support research and teaching, for the purchase of equipment and materials, and for the provision of scholarships and travelling allowances;
- Co-operation with other institutions and organisations which have an interest in Asian law and related matters;
- All such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives or any of them.
