Master of Environmental Science Law (MEnviSciLaw)
The Master of Environmental Science and Law (MEnviSciLaw) represents the merger between the applied science that is environmental science and the social aspect of law and policy that governs our interactions with the environment. The program allows students to undertake complimentary courses in the fields of Environmental Science and Environmental Law. It provides science graduates with the opportunity to extend their scientific knowledge into the area of the environment, as well as providing an introduction to the field of environmental law and policy. For law graduates, the opportunity is to extend their knowledge into environmental aspects of law, as well as to gain an understanding of some of the concepts underpinning environmental science. The program integrates disciplines which are normally considered separately and which are difficult to study coherently outside of the Environmental Science and Law program.

Admission requirements
An undergraduate degree in science or law at an appropriate level.
Program structure
48 credit points are required for completion, normally equivalent to eight units of study. Units are undertaken at the Sydney Law School and at the Faculty of Science. There is one compulsory unit to complete – Environmental Law & Policy. Students without a law degree must also complete the unit Legal Reasoning & the Common Law System. Students then complete two to three units in law and four units in science. Students choose from the entire range of relevant units on offer.
Attendance pattern
Each law unit of study entails 26 contact hours. Law units are offered on a semester length basis or intensive basis. Semester length units are taught once a week over 13 weeks on either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening between 6pm and 8pm. Intensive units of study condense the 26 hours over a period of four to five days. The units are then taught between 9am and 5pm over a block period. For example, an intensive unit may be taught two consecutive days one week and then two consecutive days in a fortnight's time. All classes are held in the Law School or another Sydney CBD location.
