In 2009 the Law school in conjunction with SULS and CLSS ran the following event:
Internship/Clerkship session (11th August 2009)
This session was attended by 30 students who had an opportunity to hear from the following key speakers on their internship and clerkship experience:
Christine Ernst
Christine was an intern at the Australian Mission to the United Nations (UN), New York, in 2008. Working on the Third Committee of the General Assembly, she represented Australia on issues ranging from summary executions to the protection of human rights while combating terrorism. Christine is in her fifth year of a combined degree in Law and Economic and Social Sciences (majoring in Government and International Relations).
Weihuan Zhou
Weihuan is a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Law. In 2008, he worked in the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva. The internship went for 6 months during which he was working as a legal officer. During the second half of the year he worked as a legal consultant with the WTO.
Enoch Lau
Enoch is a final year combined science/law student who did honours in computer science in 2007. Enoch was a summer clerk at Blake Dawson over the 2008-09 summer break, and rotated through the areas of Intellectual Property and Communications, and Construction.
