Restorative
Justice, Conferencing and the Possibilities of
Reform |
Wednesday
8th April 1998
The growth of restorative justice programs has been
widespread both in Australia and internationally over
the last few years. Most jurisdictions in Australia
now have some form of family group conferencing as an
option for dealing with young people who commit offences,
while in some areas, conferencing is being utilised
for adult offenders as well.
The
seminar will consider a range of theoretical, political
and policy-oriented issues around the question of conferencing
and restorative justice by speakers who have been in
the forefront of developments in these various areas.
