This seminar will draw upon extensive research recently concluded in the UK on the state or relations between private, municipal and public forms of visible policing. It will consider the implications for public reassurance, governance and the equitable distribution of policing.

Adam Crawford is a Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the Director of the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Leeds, UK. Professor Crawford's research interests include Crime Prevention and Community Safety; Criminal Justice Policy, Victims of Crime; Restorative Justice; Comparative Criminology and the Sociology of Law.
